Janelle Rominski loves the arts and her interest in photography began at an early age.
She became serious about taking photos when her dad let her borrow his professional digital camera to capture rock shows over 15 years ago. Once she snapped her first shot from the photo pit, she was hooked.
Janelle got her start in the music industry as a teenager working for various record label street teams and was the arts & entertainment editor for her high school’s newspaper.
From there, she attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) and earned her bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television Production. In college, she used her voice as an on-air personality on a 50,000 watt commercial radio station, had the role of being the vice president for SIUC’s record label, DigiDawg Records and was a member of the Music Business Association.
Currently, Janelle is the staff photographer for The Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, 95 WIIL Rock in Chicago and 3D Rockstars worldwide. She is also the promotions director for 102.3 XLC in northern Illinois and a reporter and photographer for The Local Tourist in Chicago.
She lives between Chicago and Milwaukee and loves having double the concert options.
Aside from music, Janelle is a student pilot going for her private pilot’s license. She also loves traveling and has visited 33 countries thus far. Her favorite traveling moment was photographing Halestorm and Adrenaline Mob in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Janelle Rominski's photos have been published on/in NBCChicago.com, WGN-TV, Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, Lake County Journal, Patch.com, Lake County Magazine, Choose Chicago's Official Visitors' Guide, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Times of Northwest Indiana and various national online music web magazines.
